Nuori Karjala obtained consultative status with ECOSOC at UN

New York: Center for Support of Indigenous Peoples and Civic Diplomacy Young Karelia Nuori Karjala -nuorisojärjestö has been granted special consultative status with Economic and Social Council (#ECOSOC) of the United Nations.

This will allow young finno-ugric people to engage with the UN even more than earlier.

This is fourth indigenous peoples’ organization from Russia to obtain ECOSOC status. The previous members are The Russian Association of Finnish-Ugric Peoples (AFUN). In addition, RAIPON (Russian Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, LIENIP and Center for Support of Indigenous Peoples have this status.
